Distintas etapas de la telegrafía óptica en España
Abstract
Optical telegraphy began in Spain as in the rest of Europe at the end of 18th century, but it was soon discontined. A second phase began around 1830, but it also ended in failure. Finally, in 1844, the construction of the optical towers network was undertaken, as the rapid news was recognized as a necessity to guarantee public order. This article deals with the Spanish devices in each stage and their functional characteristics.Downloads
