Labor reforms between democracy transitions in Spain and Argentina trough Caro Figueroa’s political career
Abstract
This article examines the relationship between the labor lawyer Armando Caro Figueroa and the working unions, businessmen, and politicians from Argentina and Spain at the end of the XXth century. We used a biographical approach to reconstruct his ideas about syndicalism, their correlation with his political activism, and the connection between him and the historical actors. We consider that was remarkable the capacity of the actor to attach the labor reforms debates on Argentina with the changes in European social democracies.Throughout, he became a transnational notable figure, with his expertise adds, which permits us to understand the social contracts made in both countries, mainly because his political knowledge about labor and syndicalism allowed him to play a central role in the labor reforms.
