Burning Books, Saving Souls: Discourses about the non Reading
Abstract
This study approaches the different speeches justifying the destruction of the Spanish bibliographic heritage are addressed, and the establishment of censorship in Franco’s side during the civil war. The burning of books, the debugging of the publishing market and bookseller funds and the weeding of libraries became an imperative for the military authorities.Downloads
