Abstract

Professor Octavio Ruiz-Manjón has published in 2016 his latest book, entitled Algunos hombres buenos. Historias de mujeres y hombres que pusieron la justicia por encima de las ideologías durante la Guerra Civil. In this work he analyzes the behavior of a number of people who tried not to succumb to the wave of violence, those who were able to distinguish the most unfair behavior committed by the faction where they were trapped and act in defense of the right to life of political opponents. This article aims to contribute to this subject by adding a new name to that list through the study of a summary trial on a republican. Recover the experience of these people can offer lessons and reflections on social behaviors in frames of intense political violence, but also it helps us to discover the many who with their gestures, attitudes and specific decisions tried to mitigate such violence, most of them anonymous and forgotten.
