Juridical Investigacion, Literature and Social Imaginary in the 19th Century
Abstract
Western culture has a long tradition of celebrated causes, facts and biographies of famous criminals. The nineteenth century produced a double inflection in this tradition: first, interest shifted to the judicial statistics, data from the trial, and its main actors. Secondly, the codification of this change includes a new social imaginary. This process is followed through the sociology of nineteenth-century literature.Downloads
