Abstract

The aim of this paper is to provide an overview of the concept of humanity, especially in regard to its projection in the law. We’ll see how this notion has been defined somewhere between the rational and the sentimental and how it has grown conceptually related to moral education. Once confirmed the important role it has played in the humanization of law in the transition to modernity, we see the possible relevance today can continue to have, particularly as it affects the foundations of human rights.
