Abstract

Based on data from the university admission tests at the University of Molise, this paper is concerned with the most relevant problems Italian students of the Communication Studies faculty encounter when writing a summary. These problems involve the whole text area: cohesion and coherence above all. The lexicon is affected as well. Finally, the paper examines the possible didactical interventions to improve students’ writing competences.
