Pavese before Pavese: some sketches of genetical criticism (towards the text of "Lavorare stanca")
Abstract
This essay analizes the first Cesare Pavese’s book of poetry: Lavorare stanca, finished the 24th of January, 1936, in Florence. The textual changes of the «second text», published in Torino in 1943, are studied in depth here, as well as the editorial decisions adopted by Italo Calvino in his outstanding Edition of 1962. This one is the foundation of the lecture and understanding of the text, in spite of some deviations from the editorial criteria of Pavese as his «last will of the author».Downloads
