Abstract

A micromorphological and anatomical study of nutlets of Acinos alpinus subsp. meridionalis and Micromeria graeca subsp. graeca, has been carried out using light and scanning electron microscopy. Acinos features smooth nutlets, thick pericarp and a palisade layer with crystal in the lumen of the sclereids. Micromeria shows rugulate nutlets, a thinner pericarp and a palisade layer without crystals. Lastly the most frequent dispersal systems between these genera are discussed briefly.
