Abstract
Muñoz Centeno, L. M. 2004. Spanish medicinal plants: Inula helenium L., Asteraceae, elecampane. Bot. Complut. 28: 127-142. The paper contains the botanical description, ecology, corology, growing and gathering of Inula helenium L. The conservation, morphological and anatomical microscopic characters of the oficinal organs are also described, together with the possible adulterations or substitutions, with the aim of giving useful information for the evaluation of the identity and purity of the plant drug. Finally, information coming from bibliographical search concerning its chemical composition, pharmacological activity, clinical particulars and preparations commercialised in Spain, is also included.Downloads
