Contribution to the flora of Sierra Alpujata and Sierra Blanca (Coín, Málaga)
Abstract
A preliminary floristic catalogue to Sierra Alpujata and Sierra Blanca (Coín, Málaga) is presented, with 351 taxa collected by authors. The whole area shows a high ecological importance, particularly the peridotites because of their endemic taxa concentration. Up to 26 regional endemisms are found in the study area, seven are exclusive from Málaga (six from peridotites and one from marbles, Linaria clementei). In addition, 21 taxa are threatened (three Endangered: Abies pinsapo, Armeria villosa subsp. serpentinicola and Klasea baetica), and 5 are protected by Law. The first record of Orobanche almeriensis is reported from Málaga, and a record of Alyssum atlanticum separated from Sierra de Mijas. Some specimens of Juniperus oxycedrus shows similar features with subspecies badia, non recorded at the province of Málaga. The juniper fields are the most developed natural vegetation on marbles and specially on peridotites.Downloads
