Abstract
We introduced a brief description of one set of plants found in the herbarium of the Real Colegio Alfonso XII of San Lorenzo de El Escorial. All of them were collected in Spain by Eduardo Carreño before moving to Paris in 1838. We also include one sheet of Festuca rubra Lag., belonging to Lagasca´s herbaria, therefore was named by its discoverer. Other than the historical importance of these sheets, these are the only preserved plants collected by Carreño in Spain, increasing its historical value. Furthermore, we authenticate the handwriting of Carreño and we annul the current beliefs of who the real beneficiary of his will were.Downloads
