Aristotle and the Problem of Metaphysics
Abstract
In this work, given originally as a lecture in 1959, the author sets out the fundamental lines of the issues that, soon after, he will explain at length in his book The problem of being in Aristotle (1962). Here, the author states that Aristotle’s investigation known as Metaphysics splits into two questions equally original and that never come to a convergence, namely, the question of the beginning and the question of unity. The permanent simultaneity of both questions constitute what is necessary to be recognized as aristotelian problems, against the pretensions of the sistematizing commentators but also of those who try to resolve the division appealing to a supposed evolution of Aristotle’s thinking.Downloads
