Spain and Latin America. Structural changes and new relations after the emancipation of the Spanish speaking America (1824-2005)
Abstract
The Independence of the Spanish America opened a new stage in the relations between Spain and the nations proclaimed at the beginning of the 19th century. Diplomatic links were created in the second half of that same century in parallel to a period (1880-1960) with an important Spanish emigration towards Iberian-America. After a transitional period during Franco’s Regime, the Spain of the Autonomous Communities has started a period of Hispanic-American emigration towards the Peninsula, while institutional relations have intensified between both Atlantic coasts and a relevant Spanish economic entrepreneurial penetration has began in the former Indies.Downloads
