Abstract
The present paper develops a methodology —based on the Multicriteria Evaluation and Geographical Information Systems (GIS)— for locating waste management facilities in the Madrid region (Spain). The methodology incorporates, as a result of the increment of the natural surface protected, a environmental zoning to include the areas of low environmental value in land planning. Thanks to it, the results obtained are adjusted to the idea of sustainable development.Downloads
