Application and results of the Rural Development Programmes LEADER and PRODER in the Oropesa and Cuatro Villas area (Toledo)
Abstract
Over the last thirty years, the LEADER and PRODER rural development programmes have promoted the dynamisation of endogenous resources in territories considered disadvantaged by the European Union in order to stimulate and mobilise innovative initiatives and contribute to increasing the competitiveness of these areas through pilot and demonstrative experiences. In this sense, this article aims to provide an analysis and assessment of these programmes after the experience of their application in the Toledo region of La Campana de Oropesa and Cuatro Villas. In order to achieve this aim, we have collected and analysed the databases of all the investment phases in the period 1997-2020, and thanks to the use of statistical and cartographic apparatus, we have obtained results that allow us to assess the impact of the programmes in order to compare them on a municipal scale within the territory under study.
