Migratory movements in Spain and its reflection in fiction cinema
Abstract
The paper is linked to the Geography and Cinema research branch and focuses on one of the geographic phenomena with a treatment highlighted by both disciplines: migratory movement. The contribution is contextualized in the so-called mobility paradigm, developed in recent times, and tries to respond to the degree of correlation between the frequency and intensity of migratory movements, on one hand, and the cultural products that reflect them, in this case the feature films, on the other. For this reason, this contribution is not based on the study of particular cases, but rather aims to offer a quantitative analysis based on an extensive of movies, produced both worldwide and in Spain. For the latter territory, it analyzes in detail the information derived from the viewing of 160 movies, with special emphasis on their spatial variables.
