Bovine brucellosis-2005. Event and electoral response. Cantabria, Spain, EU
Abstract
In 2005, it was started in the Autonomous Community of Cantabria an eradication program for bovine brucellosis in the short term. In contrast to previous programs, this one was characterized by drastic and not negotiable measurements; which was breaking with the tradition of the cattle sanitation, progressive, constant, negotiated and agreed between the parts. His cultural and social impact, in the domestic groups and in the individuals, was considerable. The collective answer was in the form of demonstrations, boycotts ... This paper examines the electoral response. We used interviews and elections databases. The results show the electoral impact of the management of the event.Downloads
