Abstract

This contribution analyses Celles d’avant (2013), a poetic work by French language Belgian author, Corinne Hoex (1946). In this paper, I argue that this poetic text should be analyzed through an enunciative perspective, referring also to the semantic and iconic aspects of the text (a model presented by Michèle Monte). My analysis will focus on the mechanisms used to undermine the unhealthy relationships between mothers and daughters – an important issue in Corinne Hoex’s work. Finally, the study of enunciation will help us understand the poetic ethos of the author.
