The Influence of African Epic on "Muko ou la trahison d’un héros"
Abstract
The legacy of African oral tradition is evident in African poetry and novels, which often present a return to the origins, the topics, the subjects and the styles of popular storytellers. This article aims at showing that the Congolese novel, Muko ou la Trahison d’un héros, imitates African traditional epic parameters. The comparison between Muko and the heroes of different epics allows to confirm their great resemblance and to understand this character, his behavior, his logic and his actions.Downloads
