A Forgotten Feminist Voice: a Translation of Short Stories by Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921)
Abstract
In this article, devoted to the publication of a bilingual anthology of short stories previously unpublished in French by the Spanish writer Emilia Pardo Bazán (1851-1921), we address the main difficulties of translation today, given the renewed interest in the author's work and, in particular, the relatively recent exposure of her feminist commitment, a commitment which structures the writing down to the smallest detail.
