Abstract
How can we move towards more inclusive and participatory research in the field of childhoods participation? The aim of this article is to contribute, from an epistemological and methodological reflection, some real experiences in which children and adolescents adopt a role as active agents of research. It is necessary to make progress in research with children and to reduce research of an adult-centred nature. The contributions, from three research studies developed in the field of social and political participation of children, show some of the contexts, techniques and practices that are sensitive to the ethics of participatory research with children. Some ideas and reflective elements are proposed to continue advancing in a greater and better co-responsibility of the participation of children in these co-research processes as a participatory practice in itself that promotes agency and the process of building active and activist citizenship, as well as building their role as researchers.
