Abstract

Count Cedillo -Jeronimo López de Ayala- translated the poem Canigó by Jacint Verdaguer into Spanish and published it in Madrid in 1898. During the period of the translation of the work between 1896 and 1898 the Catalan poet maintained Correspondence with his translator, which continued throughout the next three years (until 1901, a few months before the death of the author). In this article eight unpublished letters are published, which complete the correspondence of the poet and his translator (five were published in the Epistolari de Jacint Verdaguer).
