El paisaje urbano en el cine
Abstract
Narrative commercial films use places that create common images and have a great social impact, among the settings needed to represent their stories. Landscaping studies by modern geography, offer methods and concepts that help to understand the cultural importance of landscapes, using different means, such as literature, painting, photography and cinematography. Present mass-media studies offer film analysis methods that may be useful when evaluating narrative and formal aspects of films. The present paper aims to study the relationship between film and landscape, proposing a model composed by several types of narrative functions that urban landscapes play in films. It also includes some examples and provides a methodology of studying this relationship that will enable further research projects.Downloads
