La ciudad y el cuerpo en la obra de Santiago Calatrava y Oscar Niemeyer
Abstract
This essay explores the relation that the body establishes with the space it inhabits, occupies or dwells in, using the architechtonic works of the Valencian writer Santiago Calatrava and the Brazilian author Oscar Niemeyer as a point of departure. I will examine the process of the “corporealization” of the city –that is, the city transformed into a body, into a corporeal entity, by means of it’s buildings, structures and edifices– keeping in mind that architecture is made both for and by people, so that the human body inevitably constitutes an important instrument in the design of works that configure urban spaces.Downloads
