Abstract

The Orient always exerted a great allure to the occidental man. The trips for these far lands, in century XVI, had the flavor of salt of the sea and smelled the spices. Considering this context, the objective of this work is to analyze how to process the sensorial discourse in one of the great classics of portuguese literature, the Peregrination (1614) of Fernão Mendes Pinto.
