The editio princeps of La Coronación by Juan de Mena (89*MC)
Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyse the first incunabula edition of La Coronación by Juan de Mena. Based on the bibliographical study of the four surviving copies, we analyse the configuration of the edition and the socio-literary circumstances that determined its publication. Although the printed copies lack typobliographical indications, it is highly probable that the edition belongs to the Toulouse printing house of Parix and Clébat. This edition is a very early example of the interest of printers and readers in Mena's works, almost three decades after the poet's death.
