On mobile knots in the elaboration process of the sermons of Vicent Ferrer
Abstract
Fray Vicent refers to his preaching through the simile of the fishing net. Preaching is, according to him, a kind of net, woven from authorities, exempla, similitudines, etc. Following this metaphor, in this paper we study some of the knots of this net: consolidated groups of similes that can be found repeatedly throughout his sermons. We think that these groups facilitate the development of such oratorical pieces and show us a construction technique that had been overshadowed by the attention given to other aspects of the Vicent Ferrer preaching.Downloads
