Behind the curtain: Catalan contemporary dramatists’ diaries
Abstract
This article presents a concise outlook over some Catalan dramatists’ autobiographical texts, focusing on their reflections about theatre. This brief state of question, in which we will analize classical memories —such as Josep Maria de Sagarra’s— and more recent ones —such as Albert Boadella’s or Josep M. Benet i Jornet’s— will lead us to the study of those diaries where we can learn the evolution of Catalan scene from the end of the Francoist regime: we are referring to Maria Aurèlia Capmany, Manuel de Pedrolo and, especially, Feliu Formosa, whose high quality diaries offer the richest and most complete evidence about his theatrical activity. So, our final aim is to find the secrets that intimately connect the Sabadell writer with the theatre.Downloads
