Abstract
Aesthetic subject was introduced in the Faculty of Philosophy in 1858 after the protest of Sanz del Río against the Law of Public Education. However, its introduction caused a debate between those who were defending that it should have been an independent philosophical discipline and those who were considering it as a preliminary subject of Literature.Format
