Abstract

On the 60º aniversary of the extermination camp Auschwitz´s liberation, the topic about Enlighment’s dialectic (essential in critical thinking on postwar), keeps on opened and candent. What transformation involves the occidental view of life and Enlightenment’s values to be suddenly inoperating to detain the expansion of the most unhuman barbarism? This question still challenges the construction of an universalist culture from the modernity’s tradition, promoting a critical refoundation of its trajectory. The bright J. Habermas‘ book: The philosophical discourse of Modernity results our guide in a XX century’s philosophy journey trough. A thinking way centred on Critical Theory’s own categories, and its commitment in use to restore the liberating sense of enlightenmented culture.
