Abstract

Two individuals are involved in the domestic violence crime, the passive individual which is the woman, victim of abusive behaviour, and the active individual which is the man, responsible for inflicting the abuse. There are several studies about the consequences violence against women has on the woman. Nevertheless, proportionally, investigation on abusers is less frequent.

From our point of view, these latter studies are very important, especially from a perspective of prevention; it must not be forgotten that the abuser is a kind of delinquent who is very different from the rest, among other reasons because most likely he does not consider the consequences which his criminal behaviour has. With the fundamental purpose to discover aspects perhaps little analyzed about this type of delinquents, we have thus realized a study with different variables; 83% of the reported people were offence repeaters of the aggression. It is also to note that the higher percentage of reported people are foreigners, and finally of the importance that risk evaluation should be realized by Integral Forensic Evaluation Teams in the Courts of Violence against Women.
