Abstract
Spain has a new Law on International Cooperation for Sustainable Development and Global Solidarity. This legislation gives the desired commitment to allocate 0.7% of Gross National Income to Official Development Assistance by 2030 the status of a domestic law. The article analyses this regulation in terms of legal reflections and in comparison, with the previous law. First, the origin of the provision is developed, and its legal approach is considered. The British precedent and the precedents in Spain are reviewed, and then the draft bill, its respective parliamentary debate and the prospects for its application are addressed, about the implications that this new regulation could generate, both in the geopolitical aspect by fulfilling commitments assumed in both United Nations and European Union forums, as well as in the aspect of justiciability.
