La cuestión indígena y las desigualdades de género en Bolivia: la lucha continúa
Abstract
High level of poverty, lack of State legitimacy and growing discontent amid population have brought about an unstable environment to Bolivia. Over the last years some advances have taken place in human and social development, political economy and the decentralization of the State. However, reforms fell below expectations if one compares the institutional framework and the results it intended to bring about, specially in such important areas like the rights of the indigenous people or the gender inequalities. Lack of support in terms of resources and policies by the government lies at the root of public discontent, this diagnosis being applicable to other countries in the region.
