This article presents the theoretical and methodological development of the gender equality issues in the evaluation of public policies. It also analyses their inclusion in the policy, procedures and praxis of the Spanish Cooperation in the period 2000-2010. The identification of advances and challenges in this regard is a key feature for the design of strategies and actions that ensure the inclusion of a gender perspective in the evaluation of the Spanish Cooperation and, therefore, the advancement towards public policies that promote a more egalitarian society.
