Abstract

This paper analyzes the contemporary South-South Cooperation from the reconfiguration of the popular based internationalist movements. Two complementary analytical axes are contemplated: first, the theoretical and political consideration of decentralized South-South cooperation based on the analyses of actors, cooperation relations and solidarity practices: Secondly, the importance of an empirically oriented study of transnational convergence spaces where the SSC takes place. Thus, we explore two regular types of SSC practices in social movements, nevertheless little analyzed by the academic literature; training courses and brigades that connect the Brazilian MST members with activists from several parts of the world, mostly related to La Via Campesina.
