Rio de Janeiro and the Brazilian Agenda for South-South Cooperation
Abstract
In the last decade, the Brazilian federal government has played an active role for boosting policies and activities of decentralized cooperation for its different states and municipalities. In recent times, and according to the new role of Brazil in the international system of Cooperation for development, Brazil has started to promote the decentralized South-South Cooperation system as well. This article focuses on the governmental international cooperation of the State of Rio de Janeiro and its suitability to the national strategy of South-South Cooperation.
