Abstract
The traditional midwifery is based on a long empirical experience in very different ecological and cultural environments, which after experiencing a transitional period of training along the 20th, is on the way to disappear, replaced by qualified midwives. The contribution of traditional birth attendants and their contribution to the ODS-2030 in Ecuador, a Multicultural State where no professional midwives are recognized, is reviewed with the collaboration of the Kichwa Midwives Association of Alto Napo (AMUPKIN).
