Caso clínico de agresividad redirigida felina

Abstract

We report a case of a common European male cat of three years old and 3,5kg of weight. The reason of the consultation was because it was presenting aggressive episodes. The physical examination was normal. It was diagnosed as a problem of redirected aggression. The treatment consisted on a program of behavior modification, environmental and food enrichment, as well as the use of Feliway® as stabilizer the environment and a pharmacological treatment whit diazepam (Valium®) drops orally at doses of 0,2mg/kg per day in the morning for four weeks and fluoxetine oral dose of 1mg/kg per day, also in the morning in order to reduce its state of anxiety as well as demonstrations of aggressive behavior. The results were favorable after 16 weeks of treatment.
