Abstract

The diverse metabolic pathways of Rhodococcus can be an important source of metabolic intermediates for the pharmaceutical industry. In the cholesterol degradation pathway, the activity of the KstD converts AD into ADD. Nonetheless, there is redundancy of KstD activities in the genome. In this study we overexpress two KstDs from R. ruber in order to characterize their substrate preference.
