Hope in Palliative Oncology Patients towars a systematic review

Abstract

Objective. review on the term hope. Method. systematic study, in which 31 articles with adult population of ages between 20 to 88 years of both genders have been selected. Result. hope for palliative cancer patients is inherent in the life of the human being, it is an expectation of the future, dynamic, changing, fluctuating, measurable and multifaceted; presents two connotations as a verb and as a noun. Hope can be maintained and fostered through personal strategies of patient, social environment and health professionals; In addition, there are tools, techniques, programs and psychotherapies that facilitate these results. Conclusion. Hope can be encouraged, maintained and strengthened and is fundamental for this stage of illness. There is no specific intervention protocol for this, the main thing is to listen to the patient.
