Abstract
Objective: To validate the educational-playful tool: "The adventures of Lili against Blast the lazy" to support the disclosure of the diagnosis of Leukemia to children under 10 years of age in health professionals, caregivers and minors belonging to health service providers in the city of Barranquilla. Methods: Health professionals, caregivers and minors with Leukemia belonging to health service providers were selected in a non-probabilistic manner by intentional sampling. Mixed study to validate the tool with methodology proposed by UNICEF (2003). The IBM SPSS Statistics software package version 29.0.0.0 and NVivo 10 were used. Results: The experts and caregivers gave a favorable opinion regarding the format and messages being clear and favoring identification and acceptance. The children positively evaluated the instruments in all their dimensions, which allowed a change in behavior in the target audience. Conclusions: The tool is valid to support the process of disclosing diagnosis to children with leukemia, suggesting that it can be used in clinical and non-clinical contexts to promote communication and education about this diagnosis and to encourage children to engage in behaviors that support health-related quality of life, psychological and social well-being in children and families facing this disease.
