Mundialización y nueva especialización de los países del Este. El caso del sector de automoción

Abstract

In this article the author analyzes foreign trade patterns of the Eastern European countries which have recently joined the EU as new member states (Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) or those that will probably do it in 2007 (Bulgaria and Rumania). The first part is dedicated to the study of relations between trade integration and modernization of trade and productive structures. In the second part, the analysis is being completed with the survey of a specific sector, i.e. automotive industry, that has acquired great importance in most of the East European Countries, mainly where the modernization has been more intensive.
