Elecciones parlamentarias en la república de Moldavia: 25 febrero 2001

Abstract

"Last 25th February the Republic of Moldavia changed in a radical way its political course when the communist Party had absolut majority in the General Elections. In a dramatic economic situation, this small Republic, independent since 1994, is facing territorial desintegration and serious problems of social disvertebration, endemic unemployment and generalized corruption without any solution either short or medium time. The new President, Vladimir Voronin, seems to have decided look to Moscow and forget a possible approach to the West. The energetic dependence and the trade exchanges with Russia, its best client, feed its desires to belong to the Ruso-Bieloruse alliance which move away the country from its Romanian native country".
