¡A por el Este!: los Intereses de la Industria Europea Occidental en la Ampliación de la UE
Abstract
Since the collapse of Central and Eastern European communist regimes, the two most powerful European corporate lobby groups - the European Roundtable of Industrialists (ERT) and the employers' confederation (UNICE) - have promoted the expeditious integration of these newly market-oriented economies into the European Union. An enormous supply of high-skilled, low-wage workers and the addition of some 150 million consumers to the Single Market makes the prospect of enlargement wildly exciting to Western corporations. In the ERT's view, "It is as if we had discovered a new South-east Asia on our doorstep."Downloads
