Abstract

The process of the European enlargement towards the East consists actually in the management of a crisis. The old economic and social order is exhausted and a new order arises. The article studies 1) the institutional issues of the European Union for the enlargement, mainly the last enlargement strategy proposed by the European Commission in the Nice European Council Meeting, and 2) the potential benefits and risks related to the enlargement process.
