Convergencia estructural entre los países de la adhesión y la Unión Europea. Reformas, niveles de renta o modelos de especialización
Abstract
This paper investigates the structural characteristics of employment in accession countries, and the possible link with reform process. It argues that the identification of ‘old’ and ‘new’ sectors may be based on convergence process, with the employment structures in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) evolving towards those present in most developed European Union (EU) economies. The paper provides some indication that there is a link between structural adjustment and reforms. Additionally, it discusses alternative measures of structural change and patterns of structural evolutions.Downloads
