Abstract

Within the National limits there is a large quantity of municipalities that are in danger of vanishing off due to the loss of population. Currently these municipalities from the rural world have a great chance to revert the situation thanks to the possibilities of the sustainable development. Many of them have a cultural and environmental heritage that are being demanded more and more by the city people. One of these municipalities is Vegas de Matute, geographically located within the province of Segovia, a privileged place for being so close to Madrid.The predictable transformations of the Segovia province due to the implementation of the High Speed Train, as well as an integral planning at different levels should be the key for the future on the municipality
