La función residencial y los problemas medioambientales en el distrito centro de Madrid
Abstract
The Distrito Centro constitutes the original urban core of Madrid, that still today continues being relevant within the greater Madrid metropolitan area by the diversity of activities that are located in it. It emphasizes the residential function, with significant changes in its population (aging, immigration, etc.) and by the spatial importance that it still has, which has motivated that the last PGOUM has in mind this urban area explicitly, with specific programs and the objective of its population recovery and quality of life. But it still presents ––in comparison with the rest of Madrid–– important problems in housing: state of the construction (ruinous, bad or deficient), infrahousing, vacated houses, negative perception of the urban surroundings by the residents, that is to say, of the urban environment (noise, pollution, little cleanliness in streets, lack of green areas), at the same time are related to the social degradation.Downloads
