Abstract

Ecological corridors sheltered by our state laws, constitute links between areas with high environmental values regardless of the territorial scope in which they are. This is the case of the Cardeña River which links two areas included in the Natura 2000 network located between the provinces of Ávila and Segovia. But to ensure its capacity to interconnect different areas, it is necessary to reduce the impacts that they may experience now or that may constitute a future threat. For this, it is necessary to implement a series of actions to ensure and improve the ecological functions, which in turn will mean a social benefit in the short and especially medium and long term.
